The Blast Zone Rainforest Rapids Inflatable Bouncer with slides is a well-designed combination bouncer/slides with paddle or splash pool that can be turned into a ball bit during the colder months. As the name suggests, it has a rainforest theme to it, down to exotic sounding names for the various components of the inflatable toy. It would make a great toy to keep kids occupied during the summer months but as already stated, can probably be used dry during the winter months too.
Features of the Blast Zone Rainforest Rapids Inflatable Bouncer with Slides
This is a huge inflatable (approximate dimensions are 16 ft L x 15 ft W x 8 ft H) which will allow up to 5 kids to play on it at any one time. So it’s ideal for a large family or if one of your children has friends over. It could even be the focal point at a kids birthday party. Even though it is big, like many of these inflatable bouncer/slides it is pretty easy to set up and remarkably quick.
You simply attach the air blower that comes with the purchase to the inflatable, turn on the blower and it is up and ready to go in around 5 minutes (It would take a bit longer if you filled the paddle pool with water or balls but I’m sure the kids could keep their excitement and anticipation at bay for a few more minutes). So it’s safe to say that whether you use the inflatable wet or dry, your kids will be bouncing and sliding in under 10 minutes.
Let’s look at the various components of the Rainforest Rapids inflatable. At the center of the inflatable toy is the bouncer. This goes by the name of Zulu (not that the Zulu’s live in a rainforest but let’s not split hairs with an Assegai!) It is a good size (approximately 8’L x 8’W) and has netting walls so that boisterous bouncers don’t fall out.
So if the bouncer is part of the rainforest, the slides are undeniably the rapids. There are actually 3 slides and all of them lead to the splash/paddle pool. The central slide is the smallest of the three and comes from the front of the bouncer. It allows kids to enter or exit the bouncer quickly and due to it’s size might also be better for younger children.
The two bigger slides are on either side of the bouncer and given that the height of the inflatable is 8 feet, they can give a great sliding experience. The bigger slides are given the names crocodile slides. There appears to be no real reason for this apart from imagination. They don’t have crocodile pictures or are shaped like a crocodile in any way. If you set the inflatable up to be wet, you need to attach a garden hosepipe to the Rainforest Rapids. This circulates the water and pushes it down the big slides to create a slick, sliding experience for kids playing on it.
The final part of the Rainforest rapids inflatable is the splash or paddle pool. This goes by the name of Tiki lagoon. The Tiki lagoon serves two purposes. It gives sliders a splash down end to their slide which is fun but also slows the slider down. And it’s great for cooling off, have a water fight or just playing with water as kids are fond of doing.
The final touches to the toy to give it that rainforest feel is the warrior decal pictures and the imitation green forest fronds on the column support of the bouncer.
Like most of these inflatable toys be they Banzai water slides or Blast Zone, the Rainforest Rapids has its own storage bag and air blower. There are also ground pegs to secure the unit to the ground to make it more sturdy and a few repair patches should a hole or split appear. The storage bag makes it easy to store the unit in your garage or pack it in the car to take round to a friend or maybe the grandparents house for the next BBQ.
Kids love this combination bouncer and water slides and would no doubt be on it from sun up to sun down if possible. It’s more than just a toy as it allows them to use up their seemingly endless amounts of energy. It also lets them play with friends and socialize. Adult will even get a kick out watching the children have fun. With this in mind, it is important that the inflatable is supervised by an adult at all times of use. This might not be as much as an issue with older kids but certainly, with younger children and toddlers, this is essential.
On this point, the manufacturer recommends the product for kids 3 to 11 years of age. Kids love this inflatable because there are heaps to do on it. What’s more, it is quite versatile in that it can be used wet during the warmer months and dry during the colder times. In fact, it can be used all year round.
